Adamawa State Government established the Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) In July, 2020, to help lay focus on entrepreneurship and technical skill acquisition, train and build up the vocational capacity of youth, women and vulnerable groups in the society, enhance the micro-economic development of the State and provide intervention on basic/primary issues, geared toward value re-orientation and integration. The Agency has become a key pillar of the present administrations strategies toward economic development in the state.

The creation of this agency help in coordinating and sustaining the activities of the Ten Technical Skills Acquisition Centres across the state. The agency was established under the leadership of Hajiya Aishatu Bawa Bello as the pioneer Head of PAWECA.

The Agency was established with the following departments:

  4. Planning, Research and Statistics
  5. Training and Empowerment
  6. Procurement Department
